While it competes with the full-size domestic cars, in price and level of luxury the Avalon is pushing into the range of the $31,325 Lexus ES 300, $33,970 BMW 328i and Infiniti I30.
Avalons start at $24,568. Our XLS car started at $28,998, but options brought it to $31,758. The Toyota badge may not offer as much prestige as that of a Lexus or BMW, but the Avalon offers much more interior room than those other cars. In fact, the EPA categorizes the Avalon as a large car.
