2004 Honda Civic Base
The 2004 Honda Civic Base is better known as the DX trim for the Honda Civic during the 2004 model year. It is only offered as a sedan, and it is comparable with the slightly more equipped VP trim.
Engines, Transmissions and Fuel Economy:
The 2004 Honda Civic base model possesses a 1.7-liter 115-horsepower inline four-cylinder engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. The combination gives a fuel economy of 32/38 mpg. Like the VP version, automatic transmissions were unavailable for the Civic base model.
Safety Features:
Vehicle anti-theft system, child safety door locks, trunk-anti-trap device, and driver and passenger airbags are the standard safety features in the 2004 Honda Civic base model. Other features such as power door locks, power windows and traction control are unavailable.
Interior Features:
Interior features in the 2004 Honda Civic base model include air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, stereo system consisting of an AM/FM radio. (The sedans have trip computers). Some of these vehicles are available with leather steering wheels, cassette players, CD players, and/or CD changers. Other popular features, such as cruise control, are not available for the base models.
Exterior Features:
The 2004 Honda Civic base comes only as a four-door sedan and rides on 14-inch steel wheels (OEM alloy wheels were made optional). Other standard features include interval wipers and rear window defogger. Some Honda Civic base versions of this model year can be spotted with fog lights, rear spoilers and/or splash guards.
Colors:
The 2004 Honda Civic base is available in three colors: Galapagos Green Metallic, Satin Silver Metallic and Taffeta White. The silver and white cars have grey cloth interiors, while the green ones have ivory cloth interiors.
