Introduction
The A6 line includes the 3.2 quattro and 4.2 quattro sedans, and the new Avant 3.2 quattro. Also new for 2006 is a 3.2 FrontTrak sedan, which uses front-wheel drive and a CVT automatic. The 3.2-liter V6 delivers 255 horsepower, while the 4.2-liter V8 generates 335 horsepower. The quattro models feature Audi's all-wheel drive and come with six-speed automatic transmissions. The Avant is a wagon. Safety features that come standard include an electronic stability program, anti-lock brakes, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist, frontal airbags, side-impact airbags, head airbags, and active front head airbags. A tire-pressure monitor comes standard to alert the driver to a soft tire.For 2006, the Audi A6 lineup has been filled out to include an Avant, or wagon, as well as a new front-wheel-drive model.
