GMC Sierra 1500HD Overview

Available only as a Crew Cab with a 6-foot-6-inch bed, the 1500HD hauls 3,073 pounds with two wheel drive, 2,766 pounds with four wheel drive, and tows 10,200 pounds. Power is provided by the same 6.0-liter V-8 that is available in the 2500HD and the 3500. Because of its short bed, the 1500HD rides more smoothly than the other heavy-duty trucks. Five-speed manual and four-speed automatic transmissions are offered. Standard features include ABS, air conditioning, cruise control, AM/FM/CD audio, an attractive chrome grille molding, a chrome rear step bumper, and 17-inch chromed steel wheels.

Changes for 2006 are minimal.
