The Aspen is Chrysler's first attempt at a full-size sport utility vehicle. Similar to the Dodge Durango, the Aspen borrows the same platform as well as the historic name from Dodge.

The Aspen's suspension is the same independent, double-wishbone front design with a non-independent solid-axle rear that is found on the Durango. The interior has many wood-like trims and either cloth, leather, or leather-suede seats. It comes with the option of a 235 horsepower 4.7-liter V-8 or a 335 horsepower 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine. Both engines are mated to a five-speed automatic transmission and the more powerful V-8 is capable of shutting down 4 cylinders to conserve fuel. Rear-wheel drive is standard and two unique four-wheel drive systems are available.

The Chrysler Aspen is an all new model for 2007.

Buying a 2007 Chrysler Aspen

Purchasing an older vehicle, such as the 2007 Chrysler Aspen, makes good financial sense. You're able to avoid the steep depreciation rates that occur with brand new vehicles. This essentially gives you the advantage of getting a 2007 Chrysler Aspen for less money than when it was new. If the 2007 Chrysler Aspen was properly maintained, you also have a good chance of steering clear of problems that would have developed when the car was new.

The amount you pay for an older car depends on various factors. One important element is where you buy the vehicle. You're likely to get a better deal if you buy it from a private party, as opposed to a dealer. On the other hand, a reputable dealer will normally have some kind of limited warranty, so you can drive away knowing that if the car breaks down right away, you'll be covered. Another factor that may affect price on a 2007 Chrysler Aspen is whether it's "certified" by the manufacturer. A certified vehicle will cost more because warranty service is provided that normally doesn't come with a used car.
