The Ford Escape Hybrid is the dual gas/electric powered version of the Ford Escape. Its smooth ride and agile handling make for enjoyable driving, and its compact dimensions make it easy to maneuver and park when you get there.

The Escape Hybrid is available with four-wheel drive or two-wheel drive. All come with continuously variable automatic transmissions; no manuals are available. The power comes from a 2.3-liter Duratec four-cylinder combined with an electric motor, making it a hybrid vehicle able to use either engine when needed. It comes in one well-equipped trim level and optional leather seating, upgraded audio equipment, side-curtain airbags and a navigation system are available. A safety package includes side-curtain airbags that cover all seating areas as well as side airbags for the driver and front-seat passenger.

The Ford Escape Hybrid is a carryover from 2006.

Buying a 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid

Purchasing an older vehicle, such as the 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid, makes good financial sense. You're able to avoid the steep depreciation rates that occur with brand new vehicles. This essentially gives you the advantage of getting a 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid for less money than when it was new. If the 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid was properly maintained, you also have a good chance of steering clear of problems that would have developed when the car was new.

The amount you pay for an older car depends on various factors. One important element is where you buy the vehicle. You're likely to get a better deal if you buy it from a private party, as opposed to a dealer. On the other hand, a reputable dealer will normally have some kind of limited warranty, so you can drive away knowing that if the car breaks down right away, you'll be covered. Another factor that may affect price on a 2007 Ford Escape Hybrid is whether it's "certified" by the manufacturer. A certified vehicle will cost more because warranty service is provided that normally doesn't come with a used car.
