The Toyota FJ Cruiser is the rebirth of the Toyota FJ 40, better known in North America as the original Land Cruiser. It is very capable when it comes to getting where you want to go when there's no pavement beneath your tires.

The FJ Cruiser comes in just one model with a 239 hp 4.0-liter V-6. Buyers can choose one of three drivetrains: A basic rear-wheel-drive version equipped with a five-speed automatic transmission, a part-time four-wheel-drive version with the same automatic transmission, or a full-time four-wheel-drive version with a six-speed manual transmission. The FJ Cruiser seats up to five passengers. Safety features include Toyota's STAR Safety System that includes anti-spin Vehicle Stability Control, traction control, and anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist. Side-curtain and front-seat side airbags are optional. Dual-stage front airbags are standard.

The Toyota FJ Cruiser is a brand new vehicle for 2007.

Buying a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

Purchasing an older vehicle, such as the 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser, makes good financial sense. You're able to avoid the steep depreciation rates that occur with brand new vehicles. This essentially gives you the advantage of getting a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser for less money than when it was new. If the 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser was properly maintained, you also have a good chance of steering clear of problems that would have developed when the car was new.

The amount you pay for an older car depends on various factors. One important element is where you buy the vehicle. You're likely to get a better deal if you buy it from a private party, as opposed to a dealer. On the other hand, a reputable dealer will normally have some kind of limited warranty, so you can drive away knowing that if the car breaks down right away, you'll be covered. Another factor that may affect price on a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser is whether it's "certified" by the manufacturer. A certified vehicle will cost more because warranty service is provided that normally doesn't come with a used car.
