The rear-wheel drive 128i is initially offered as a coupe, a convertible will be available later in the model year. The 128i is powered by a 230-hp 3.0-liter dual overhead cam, inline six-cylinder engine mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic with steering wheel paddle shifting.
