The 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid has been redesigned with a more aggressive new grille and headlamps, but retains its popular overall look and size that have made it the best selling hybrid SUV on the market.
The Escape Hybrid has a 133-hp four-cylinder engine linked to a 70-kilowatt electric motor. The net result is 155 horsepower and acceleration similar to that of the V6, but with enhanced fuel economy and reduced emissions. As a full hybrid, the Escape Hybrid can run only on electric power in low-load conditions. The Hybrid uses a continuously variable transmission, or CVT. The compact SUV will also showcase the first U.S. automotive application of seating surfaces made entirely from 100 percent recycled materials. Standard safety features on the 2008 Escape Hybrid include front and side airbags for the front seats and side-curtain airbags that cover both rows, four-wheel disc brakes w/ABS and tire pressure monitoring.
The 2008 redesign also brings a new interior, one new paint colour, unique Hybrid instrument panel and gauges and an aux-jack standard on all radios.

Resale Value for the 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid
When considering the purchase of a 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid, it's important to keep in mind what the eventual resale value will be. This can be ascertained from looking at the selling price of prior year versions of the 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid, if it's not a brand new model. Keep in mind that resale value is dependent on the condition of the automobile when it is sold, as well as optional equipment and the total number of miles accumulated.
