The 2008 Honda Fit Base represents Honda's basic offering for the second generation design of this five door hatchback, classified a “subcompact” car in the North American market.

The Honda Fit is powered by a 16 valve SOHC 109 horsepower engine, with a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission standard. On the base model, the 2008 Fit gets an EPA estimated 28/34 miles per gallon (cty/hwy) with a manual transmission and 27/34 with an automatic. The Honda Fit 2008 has a LEV-2 emissions rating from the California Air Resources Board (CARB).

A lot of what’s popular on the 2008 Honda Fit is included in the base model. Honda Fit buyers can find air conditioning, power locks and windows, and Honda's MagicSeat storage system. The audio package is not too bad either. Drivers of this model year can enjoy a 160-Watt AM/FM/CD Audio System (with 4 speakers on the base model and 6 in the Fit Sport). Though in the 2008 Fit base model, MP3 capability is not available, Speed Sensitive Volume Control is standard, and blue backlit gages and other style features add to the style of the vehicle interior.

There are also a lot of the safety features on the Honda Fit to rival other 2008 sedans, including Anti-lock brakes (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), and a tire pressure monitoring system, as well as dual-stage, dual-threshold front airbags and more in engineering for protecting drivers and passengers. Cargo tie-down anchors and more provide for easy storage options. Take a look at this car if you are looking for a late model Honda that will offer a lot for its size.
