Introduction
The base H3 and H3X are powered by a 242-hp, 3.7-liter, inline five-cylinder engine bolted to a 5-speed manual transmission. The H3 Alpha brings V-8 power for increased towing and stronger acceleration. Standard safety features include: anti-lock brakes, stability and traction control, frontal and curtain side-impact airbags, OnStar and a tire-pressure monitoring system. For 2008, the HUMMER H3 adds the 300-hp V-8 powered Alpha to the line-up.
