The G8 comes in two flavors: the base trim and the sportier GT. The base carries a 256-hp 3.6-liter V6 engine paired with a five-speed automatic transmission featuring manual shift control, while the GT on the other hand, sports a 361-hp 6.0-liter V8 engine bolted to a six-speed automatic, also with manual shift control. Helping to get that power to the ground are 18" alloy wheels and performance tires, as well as a limited slip differential on the GT. Standard safety features include six airbags, four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes, traction control, vehicle stability system, OnStar and tire pressure monitoring. The G8 is the first North American deployment of the new global rear-wheel-drive architecture developed by Holden, GM's Australian subsidiary.
