Introduced for 2007 and continuing strong for 2008, the Volkswagen Eos is an affordable hardtop convertible that delivers brisk acceleration and serves as a smooth companion around town.
The Eos comes with two engine choices, a 200-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, or a 250-hp 3.2L V6. The turbocharged engine is available with either a six-speed manual or six-speed DSG automatic transmission, while the V6 is equipped with only the DSG automatic transmission. A 12-way power driver seat is standard on all but the base Turbo trim, while Lux and VR6 trims also get a 12-way power passenger seat. Convertible-specific electronic climate control is standard on all but the Turbo trim. Safety features include active rollover bars, an electronic stability system and front and side airbags.
For 2008, the Volkswagen Eos has new trim level naming (Turbo, Komfort, Lux and VR6), some new wheel designs and leather steering wheel/shift knob/parking brake handle standard on all trims.
Intelligence on the Upcoming Volkswagen Eos Models For 2009, the Volkswagen Eos has been slimmed down to two trims (Komfort and Lux), the VR6 engine choice has been dropped, and VW's new no-charge Carefree Maintenance Program has been added.
Resale Value for the 2008 Volkswagen Eos
When considering the purchase of a 2008 Volkswagen Eos, it's important to keep in mind what the eventual resale value will be. This can be ascertained from looking at the selling price of prior year versions of the 2008 Volkswagen Eos, if it's not a brand new model. Keep in mind that resale value is dependent on the condition of the automobile when it is sold, as well as optional equipment and the total number of miles accumulated.
