Volkswagen GLI Overview

The GLI is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with a six-speed manual transmission. This high-tech engine produces 200 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. The GLI is also available with a six-speed Direct Shift Gearbox, which works like a manual transmission with an automated clutch, and can be shifted manually or left in full automatic mode. The GLI comes standard with front side-impact air bags, curtain/head air bags and anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution.

For 2008, the GLI remains largely the same, except now acting as the sole possessor of the 2.0T engine in the Jetta bodystyle.
