The four-door Jetta sedan is available in three renamed trim levels, S, SE and SEL. All Jetta trims come standard with a 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine generating 170 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, and a five-speed manual transmission. A six-speed automatic is standard on the SEL trim level, and optional on the other two trims. Jettas come standard with many safety features including front side-impact air bags, curtain/head air bags, anti-lock brakes and traction control. Stability control is standard on SE and SEL trims, optional on the S trim.
Also for 2008, Volkswagen has shuffled, deleted, and added many features in conjunction with the new trim naming convention.
