The 2008 Volkswagen R32 2dr HB is Volkswagen's top of the line in the Golf/Rabbit and GTI family. The R32 offers a 3.2 liter, 250 horsepower and 236 ft/lbs of torque V6 engine that is not available in the Rabbit or GTI. Even though navigation was the only available option, the R32 offered a wealth of upgraded features over its Rabbit based VW counterparts.

The R32 is also the only vehicle built on the Rabbit/Golf platform to offer VW's 4Motion all wheel drive system available in the USA.

While it will undoubtedly be lumped together with other factory built "tuner" cars like the Subaru WRX STi and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, the R32 offers leather interior, a sunroof, dual zone climate controls and a smooth shifting dual clutch automatic gearbox that helps set it in a league of its own as a comfortable cruiser that can carve up a race track.

Unlike the GTI and the 2004 R32, the 2008 version is ONLY available with Volkswagen's DSG dual clutch automatic gear box. It can be shifted manually using steering wheel mounted paddles or by pressing the shift lever up or down. An important note, most Audis and Volkswagens that have the DSG transmission tend to post faster 0 to 60 times then their traditional manual counterparts.

The interior features R32 specific, leather wrapped sport seats, dual digital climate controls, power sunroof and an MP3 compatible stereo system with upgraded speakers.

On the outside, the R32 sets itself apart from the rest of the Rabbit and GTI line with unique bumpers, a subtle rear deck spoiler, a center outlet, dual exhaust and R32 specific 18-inch wheels.
