Volvo S40 Overview

The S40 is a sporty front-wheel drive four-door passenger car from Volvo. It is powered by a 168 hp inline-five engine in the base model and gains a turbocharger in the sportier 227 hp T5 trim. It comes standard with a five-speed manual and has an optional five-speed automatic transmission called Geartronic, that allows clutchless manual shifting. The T5 is also available with all-wheel drive and the Geartronic auto transmission. Inside the cabin it receives more storage space and the exterior gets a slight redesign including revised lights, rear end, and a lower ride height.

The 2008 Volvo S40 is largely a carryover from 2007.
