OVERVIEW
The front-wheel drive Lucerne is offered in eight trim levels: CX, CX-2, CXL, CXL Special Edition, CXL-3, CXL-4, CXL-5 and Super. For 2009, the CX and CXL variants are equipped with a new, more powerful 227-hp 3.9-liter V6 engine, while the Super retains its 292-hp 4.6-liter Northstar V8; both engines are mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. All CX and CXL trim levels are outfitted with 17-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, satellite radio and Bluetooth wireless connectivity, while additional trim-dependent standard features include dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. The Super is further equipped with an adaptive sport-tuned suspension with Magnetic Ride Control, 18-inch alloy wheels and a 6-disc CD changer, as well as exclusive interior trim elements. Safety features found on every Lucerne include traction control, 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, front side-impact airbags, overhead curtain airbags for front and rear passengers, a tire pressure monitoring system and OnStar service. Other trim-specific safety enhancements include Stabilitrak electronic stability control and Ultrasonic rear parking assist, as well as Lane Departure Warning and Side Blind Zone Alert systems.

For 2009, the Buick Lucerne receives a new trim level ordering strategy for standard equipment, along with minor option package adjustments. Additionally, the CXS trim is removed from the model lineup.
