The Dodge Ram 1500 offers bold all-new styling with an aggressive ?grille-forward? design, new interiors with premium materials and innovative features, and big power from a choice of engines, making it ideal for work and play.
The Ram 1500 provides something for everyone with the choice of three cab styles (regular, Quad and Crew cabs), three wheelbases and either 4x2 or 4x4 drive types. In addition to 3.7-liter V6 and 4.7-liter V8 engines, the new 5.7-liter HEMI V8 provides more horsepower (390 hp) and torque (407 lb.-ft.), with increased fuel economy over the previous generation of the engine. New interiors feature premium seat trim, soft-touch materials, redesigned controls, floor console with shifter, and many storage options. Standard safety features include side curtain airbags, stability control, traction control and trailer sway control. Heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, power adjustable pedals, rear parking sensors, rear backup camera are available. Electronic and infotainment choices include MyGIG multimedia infotainment system with 30-gigabyte hard drive, navigation system, SIRIUS Backseat TV, surround-sound audio and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system. The RamBox cargo management system, available on the Crew cab, includes lockable, illuminated storage bins built into bed rails.
The Ram 1500 is completely redesigned for 2009. An improved frame design supports an all-new multi-link coil spring rear suspension (in place of the traditional leaf spring suspension) that improves ride and handling characteristics without sacrificing payload (up to an estimated 1,850 pounds) and towing capability (up to an estimated 9,100 pounds).
