2009 Honda Civic DX
The 2009 Honda Civic DX is the base model of the Honda Civic for the 2009 model year.
Engines, Transmissions and Fuel Economy:
The 2009 Honda Civic DX has a 1.8-liter 140-horsepower inline four-cylinder engine. Some DXs come with a 5-speed manual transmission; others come with a 5-speed automatic version. Fuel economy depends on the kind of transmission fitted with the engine. Manual gearboxes provide a fuel economy of 26/34 mpg; automatic ones, 25/36 mpg.
Safety Features:
Safety features in the 2009 Honda Civic DX include vehicle anti-theft system; ABS brakes; power windows; and driver, passenger, front side, and side head curtain airbags. The sedan versions also have child safety door locks.
Interior:
Tilt steering and tire inflation/pressure monitor are some of the standard interior features of the 2009 Honda Civic DX. However, other features—like CD/radio stereo system and air conditioning—might not be available in some DXs.
Exterior:
The 2009 Honda Civic DX comes as a two-door coupe or a four-door sedan. Wheels are 15 inches and made of steel, although there is an option to get OEM (original equipment manufacturer) alloys. All 2009 DXs have daytime running lights, interval wipers, and rear window defogger, with the coupes fitted with rear spoilers.
Colors:
The three colors available for the 2009 Honda Civic DX are Alabaster Silver Metallic, Royal Blue Pearl and Taffeta White—all with grey cloth interior.
Alternate Trim:
The 2009 Honda Civic DX also had an alternate trim in the DX-VP, the "VP" acronym standing for "Value Package." It was supposed to be a choice for customers to buy a DX with the best value combination of car features.
