The Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder is a fun, sporty convertible that offers all the pleasures of open-air motoring without carrying a hefty price tag.
The Eclipse Spyder is a two-door, four-seat roadster based on the latest Eclipse coupe. It comes in two trim levels: GS and GT. The GS has a 162-hp four-cylinder engine mated to a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. The GT has a 265-hp 3.8-liter V6 mated to a 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission. The Eclipse comes standard with front airbags and front side-impact airbags with head extensions. The standard anti-lock brakes feature Electronic Brake-force Distribution, which balances front-rear brake application in emergency stops.
For 2009, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder has refreshed front and rear bumper fascias. The GT gains dual exhaust, HID headlamps, stability control, and a large rear spoiler.
Intelligence on the Upcoming Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder Models For 2010, Mitsubishi has enhanced the GS model with styling cues from the GT trim. Also, Bluetooth, rear view camera, and auxiliary input jack are available.
