The Passat is the largest passenger car in the Volkswagen line-up. It has all the refinements and technology expected of a sophisticated German sedan.
The Passat is offered as a front-wheel drive four-door sedan or five-door wagon in one well equipped trim level. It's powered by a 200-hp, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic. Standard features include a power driver seat, satellite radio, 17" wheels and tires, heated front seats and a power sunroof. Safety features include six airbags, four-wheel-disc brakes and ABS, speed-variable electromechanical steering, electronic stability control, tire-pressure monitor, full LED brakelights and a security system.
For 2009, the Passat line-up has been greatly simplified with the deletion of several trim levels as well as features such as 4Motion and the VR6 engine, and all VW's benefit from the new Carefree Maintenance Program.
Intelligence on the Upcoming Volkswagen Passat Models For 2010, Volkswagen's DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox) replaces the previous automatic transmission, and Bluetooth, fog lights and a new touch-screen audio system all become standard equipment.
Resale Value for the 2009 Volkswagen Passat
When considering the purchase of a new vehicle, it's important to keep in mind what the eventual resale value will be. It is expected that the 2009 Volkswagen Passat will have a good resale value. This assumes that after 3 to of 5 years of ownership the vehicle will be in good condition. Other factors include the optional equipment you choose and the total mileage on your vehicle.
