Introduction
The XC70 is derived from the Volvo V70 wagon but includes higher ground clearance, SUV styling, and all-wheel drive. A 235-hp 3.2-liter inline-six is the base engine. New for 2009 is a 281-hp turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine. Both are paired with a Geartronic six-speed automatic transmission, allowing driver selectable shifting. Safety features include electronic stability control, side-impact and side curtain airbags, and all-disc anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution. Standard equipment now includes Bluetooth.For 2009, the Volvo XC70 adds the T6 turbocharged engine.
