The 2015 Lexus IS 250 aims to marry the brand's reputation for serene luxury with a sportier personality, targeting a younger demographic and, most importantly, BMW's lock on the compact sports sedan segment.
What's New for 2015
Following its redesign for 2014, the IS 250 gets some equipment changes for 2015. The backup camera now features gridlines to make it more useful. Siri Eyes Free is now available for those who use an iOS device with their cars. LED fog lights are new, as are heated and cooled front seats for F Sport models. A heated steering wheel is a new option for cars equipped with all-wheel drive.
Choosing Your Lexus IS 250
The base IS 250 and performance-flavored F Sport both come with a 204-horsepower 2.5-liter V6 that's mated to a six-speed automatic. Rear-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is optional on both.
The MSRP for an F Sport is substantially more expensive, but it comes with standard equipment that's optional on the base IS 250. Since the F Sport is a primarily cosmetic package that does little to change the car's personality, its main appeal will be for buyers who think it looks better.
