Introduction

The Mazda3 is offered in four trim levels: SV (sedan only), Sport (sedan only), Touring, and Grand Touring. Powertrain choices vary from a 148-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, and a five-speed manual or automatic transmission, to a 167-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, and a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission. Lastly, a new SKYACTIVE 155-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, and a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, is offered. The new SKYACTIV technology focuses on improving fuel-efficiency. Standard or available safety features include six airbags, 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, stability and traction control, active front head restraints, bi-xenon adaptive headlights and tire pressure monitoring. Available tech features include a compact navigation system, advanced keyless entry and start, Bluetooth for cell phones and music streaming, Homelink garage door opener, satellite radio and a 10-speaker BOSE audio system.For 2012, the Mazda3 receives a slight front and rear fascia refresh. The big news is the first appearance of SKYACTIV technology.
