The Continental GTC's flexible-fuel, twin turbocharged 6.0-liter W12 engine produces 567 horsepower and 516 pounds-feet of torque and sends power through a strengthened ZF 6-speed automatic transmission with Quickshift steering column mounted gearshift paddles. The new-for-2013 direct-injected, variable displacement, twin turbocharged 6.0-liter V8 engine makes 500 horsepower and is mated to a new 8-speed ZF automatic transmission with Quickshift steering column mounted gearshift paddles. The standard all-wheel-drive system's power split has a 40:60 rear bias for a sporting feel in terms of handling and mid-corner acceleration. Continuous Damping Control (CDC) constantly monitors the car's attitude and poise, adjusting the suspension settings hundreds of times a second to provide a remarkably supple ride at low speeds and increased control as speeds climb. Optional light-weight carbon ceramic brakes offer superior durability and reduce brake fade, where the brakes become less effective due to overheating in extremely demanding conditions. Heated memory power seats, in a distinctive 'cobra'-design for added comfort and enhanced rear cabin space, are standard. Premium grade leather and genuine wood trim are used throughout the interior, and the V8 trim features a unique new Dark Fiddleback Eucalyptus veneer. 21-inch aluminum wheels are available in chrome and painted finishes. The Continental GT's infotainment system features a high-resolution touch-screen interface for navigation and infotainment functions. A 14-speaker Naim for Bentley system, created exclusively for the Continental GTC by British specialists Naim, employs Dirac Dimensions digital signal processing. A rear reversing camera is also available, and with the optional neck warmer feature, a discreet vent in the seat just below the headrest provides a stream of warm air to take the chill off a spring or autumn drive. The Continental GTC was redesigned for the 2012 model year and is carried over. The new 4.0-liter V8 provides an improvement in fuel efficiency and a reduction in CO2 emissions.
