The pinnacle of power and prestige in BMW's full-size 7 Series, the 760 sits atop a 126-inch wheelbase and carries a V12 engine under the hood. Add to that its executive-class interior and classic BMW mystique, and you have a force of nature posing as a luxury sedan.
What's New For 2015
The BMW 760 is essentially unchanged.
Choosing Your BMW 760
The 760 rides on an extended wheelbase that's optional on other 7 Series models. The extra inches add up to a limo-like backseat and greater visual impact on the outside. But the real draw here is the 6-liter turbocharged V12 that cranks out 535 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque. Zero to 60 mph happens in just 4.5 seconds, about as fast as it gets for a car of this size and weight. The 760 is rear-drive only and comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission with selectable performance modes.
Almost every feature available on the six-cylinder and V8 models comes standard on the 760. That means you get niceties like an extended leather interior with massaging climate-controlled seats, a full suite of active safety technology, power soft-close doors and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon surround-sound system. Even the little things will leave you impressed: ceramic-finish controls, three power sunshades, a BMW ski bag. Mechanically, the 760 benefits from an enhanced adaptive suspension and four-wheel steering.
For a sportier feel, you can add the M Sport package, which endows the 760 with unique 19- or 20-inch wheels, revised styling inside and out, and a higher top speed limiter. The available Individual Composition package lets you select from a broad palette of interior finishes, leathers and color schemes.
Even at this level of equipment, there are some standalone options, including adaptive cruise control, infrared night vision, a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system and a rear entertainment system with dual screens.
The 760 is so obviously a grandiose luxury car, the M Sport package seems out of place here. For the same reason, the rear entertainment system makes a lot of sense.
