The G37 Coupe rolls into 2013 with only minor cosmetic changes and news that the base model has been dropped. It's now available in a pair of trim levels: Journey and Sport. Both feature a 3.7-liter V6 that cranks out 330 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, but that's where their paths diverge.
The luxurious Journey comes standard with a seven-speed shiftable automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive; all-wheel drive is optional. Standard amenities include leather upholstery, eight-way power seats and a premium audio system.
The athletic Sport comes only in rear-wheel drive and uses a close-ratio, six-speed manual transmission. It stays true to its name by adding a limited-slip differential, sport-tuned steering and sport-tuned suspension. In Sport trim, the G37 Coupe reaches 60 mph in 5.7 seconds.
The Sport Package tosses in 19-inch wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, a limited-slip differential, sport brakes and a sport-tuned steering gear. The Technology Package adds Intelligent Cruise Control, Brake Assist, Advanced Climate Control, rain-sensing wipers and Pre-Crash Seat Belts. The Interior Accent Package gets you maple interior accents throughout the cabin. The Performance Tire and Wheel Package, finally, comes with 19-by-8.5-inch wheels and performance tires.
The Journey trim level is the entry level for the sporty G37 Coupe, but it still comes loaded with features. Standard equipment includes: HID headlights; fog lights; keyless entry with remote window opening; 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels; push-button ignition; power windows and door locks; leather upholstery with eight-way power front seats; and an AM/FM/CD/MP3/SiriusXM audio system with six speakers, a USB port and steering-wheel-mounted controls.
The Sport trim level adds a little more luxury and a sportier feel to the G37 Coupe. Standard features include: a viscous limited-slip rear differential; a sport-tuned steering gear; a sport-tuned suspension; four-piston calipers and 14-inch disc brakes up front; 19-inch wheels; a sport front fascia; a sunroof; a 12-way power driver’s seat; sport seats; and a Bose 11-speaker audio system.
