The C-Class has been Mercedes-Benz's entry level model for years. Designed to compete with the BMW 3-Series and other similarly priced imports, the C-class comes in a variety of packages trim levels, but the C63 is Mercedes-Benz's rip-roaring coupe sports sedan which offers European prestige in a package starting just under $60,000. Recently redesigned, the C63 AMG features a newer (and larger) 6.2 liter V8 engine which produces 481 horsepower of raw, unchecked aggression.
While most of the other C-Class models are designed to be efficient, elegant, and classy, the C63 AMG brand is geared towards those in search of more power. Despite the aggression of the engine, the C63 boasts a fairly decent fuel economy for a V8 engine, coming in at 13 MPG/City and 19/MPG on the highway. Equipped with the AMG performance package which adds an additional 30 horsepower and an additional increase in top speed over the base C63, this vehicle is a monster on the road. A seven speed automatic and manual transmission elicits a thrilling driving experience.
Like all Mercedes, the C63 offers high-quality construction and performance the company has become known for. Safety features are top-of-the-line and prevalent, and include anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, a plethora of airbags (front, pelvis, drivers knee, full side), blind spot warning system, lane-departure warning system, and Mercedes Attention Assist.
The interior is plush and elegant, but the C63 shines in the one place where you want it to shine; on the road. Nothing short of a modern day muscle car, the C63 AMG will blow by anything on the road, while handling well on sharp corners. While not as nimble as some of the competition, the C63 is raw, unchained power in a sleek, attractive import package.
The base C63 AMG comes loaded with the AMG performance package. This includes a 6.2 liter V8 engine with 481 horsepower and 443 foot-pound of torque. The transmission a seven speed automated manual. Standard features include; Bluetooth, iPod auxiliary input jack, satellite radio, eight-way power driver seat, roadside assistance, cruise control, dual-zone climate controls, interior wood-trim accent, and 18 inch alloy wheels. Safety features include; a full-compliment of airbags, stability and traction control, post-collision safety system, electronic brake-force distribution, anti-lock brakes, and Mercedes Attention Assist.
