In the CUV crossover class, there is limited, but still plentiful, competition for the Venza. Starting things off is the 2013 Chevrolet Traverse, which features a base MSRP of $30,340 and features seating for up to eight people, up to a 5,200-pound towing capacity and a 281- to 288-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine. The 2013 Ford Flex is another competitor and comes in carrying a $30,385 base MSRP along with a 285-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine, room for up to seven people, and a maximum towing rating of up to 4,500 pounds. The 2013 Acura RDX comes in as the final competitor, featuring a $34,320 base MSRP, a 273-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine, room for five people and maximum towing capacity of 1,500 pounds.
The competition for the 2013 Venza may be somewhat limited, but that does not take away from the fact that the competition is fierce. The revised Venza needs to perfectly combine the form and function of a minivan with a dash of SUV utility to pull customers away from the competition.
