Audi continues to take aim at capturing more sales in the United States and globally. In recent years, the brand has continued to expand its product lineup and lure customers away from BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
Although Audi still faces serious challenges in overtaking both German competitors, vehicles like the A6 continue to impress and delight the automotive world. The A6 is available in a choice of turbocharged and supercharged gasoline engines and a new TDI clean diesel model.
What's New for 2014
A6 models with the 2.0T engine see a horsepower increase to 220, and a new TDI clean-diesel engine is added to the lineup. The A6 2.0T gains standard heated front seats, while the Prestige trim gains Audi Side Assist blind-spot monitoring. A number of new exterior trim and wheel upgrade packages are also offered.
Choosing Your Audi A6
True to German tradition, trim level is closely tied to engine choice.
Options include dedicated Internet access and adaptive cruise control that can stop-and-go the sedan through a traffic jam. Audi's night vision assistant can detect nearby pedestrians on dark roads. A color heads-up display projects speed and navigation information onto the windshield, close to the driver's field of vision. Audi Pre Sense Plus, meanwhile, monitors the road ahead and can warn of a potential collision. For this year, the parking assist system gets new top and corner-view cameras.
As much as we like Audi's diesel engines, it's hard not to recommend the exceptional value of the base 2.0T.
