3/4 Front Glamour 2014 BMW 228

CarsDirect Pricing Insider

What you must know before buying the BMW 228
, Automotive Editor -
  • 2014 model prices are still high
  • Supplies are low
  • BMW is pushing financing and leases
  • Convertibles are coming later this year

Highs and lows:

If you're thinking of buying a 2014 BMW 228i, you might want to wait. Dealer supplies of the vehicle are on the low side. Blame that lack of inventory for the currently high prices, which we expect to remain high.

Finance or lease:

On the bright side, BMW is offering a 33-month lease on the 228i. The monthly payments are $309. It's also including $1,000 of Build-Out Cash in the deal. You can get the same amount of Build-Out Cash if you finance the 228i at 3.13-percent APR, which you can do for up to 72 months.

Months from now:

A convertible version of the 2 Series is coming in late 2014. Unfortunately, its predecessor, the 1 Series drop-top, is almost completely sold out in most parts of the country, leaving you without yet another choice for open-air BMW motoring.
