Choosing Your BMW 650i

The biggest decision facing any buyer is coupe or convertible. Once that’s settled, you can add BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system to either.

All models carry a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that pumps out 445 horsepower, matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The 650i is generously endowed with high-end features like a 12-speaker surround-sound system with satellite and HD radio, 16-way heated leather seats with driver memory, adaptive cruise control, voice controls and power-folding heated mirrors. The leather upholstery used in the convertible is sun-reflective.

Even at this level of equipment, BMW offers a host of option packages:

2014 BMW 650 Interior
  • Executive: Adds automatic soft-closing doors, a power rear sunshade (coupe only), ventilated front seats, a leather-topped dashboard, ceramic-finish controls and integrated smartphone apps.
  • Driver Assistance: Includes surround-view cameras, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning and speed limit data.
  • Cold Weather: Gets you a heated steering wheel and a nifty ski bag.
  • Lighting: Adds full LED exterior lighting with automatic high beam control.
  • M Sport: Comes with 19-inch wheels, a sport steering wheel, a faux suede headliner and an aerodynamic body kit.
  • M Sport Edition: Bundles the contents of all of the above package except Cold Weather.

As far as individual options go, you can order some heady stuff like active roll stabilization, four-wheel steering (rear-drive only), infrared night vision, 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen surround sound and an automated parallel parking system (rear-drive only).

CarsDirect Tip

The new M Sport Edition (not to be confused with the regular M Sport option package) delivers an incredible array of equipment along with impressive value. The premium you pay for M Sport Edition is far less than the cost of its contents if purchased separately.
