The all-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado is now on sale. With the introduction of the much-improved new full-size truck comes a special-edition trim level Chevy is calling the Silverado High Country. Priced from around $47,000, the ultra-luxurious trim level will give buyers all the creature comforts of a fine luxury sedan while retaining the outstanding capability and reliability the workhorse Silverado is known for.
The High Country will come with either a 5.3-liter V8 or Chevrolet's brand new range-topping 6.3-liter V8, an advanced new dedicated truck engine expected to produce about 420 horsepower and 450 lb-ft. of torque. Available only as a Crew Cab, the High Country will be instantly recognizable thanks to massive 20-inch bright chrome wheels, copious chrome trim, color-coded bumpers, halogen projector-beam headlamps, a unique grille, and more.
But it's on the inside where this truck will be something truly special. Taking a page from Ford with its F-150 King Ranch and RAM with its Laramie Longhorn Edition, the High Country will be more comfortable than your favorite easy chair. Premium saddle-brown leather covers nearly every touchable surface, including the heated and cooled front chairs with "High Country" embroidery. You'll also find standard Chevrolet MyLink infotainment running on an 8-inch touchscreen, plus a Bose premium surround sound system, front and rear park assist, and other premium features.
For the ultimate luxury truck, the options list will include an integrated trailer-brake controller, navigation, a sunroof, rear seat entertainment, and the High Country Premium Package (a heated steering wheel, a driver alert package, adjustable pedals and the integrated trailer brake controller).
Expect the 2014 Silverado High Country, and the equally luxurious GMC Sierra Denali, in dealerships in late Summer/early Fall 2013.
