3/4 Front Glamour 2014 Chevrolet Volt

CarsDirect Pricing Insider

What you must know before buying the Chevrolet Volt
, Automotive Editor -
  • Volt supplies evenly split between 2014 and 2015 models
  • Shop dealers for in-house discounts
  • Get $1,000 factory cash allowance on either year
  • Federal tax credit up to $7,500

Pricing continues to improve:

At the start of the 2014 model year, Chevrolet slashed the price of the electric-powered Volt by $5,000, a move that instantly brought more shoppers into showrooms. On top of that, every 2014 and 2015 Volt carries a $1,000 cash allowance, something we first spotted this summer.

You're also likely to find discounts at individual dealers across the country, especially those with high volume or strong Volt sales. Of course, discounts will generally favor the 2014 model (especially on leases), but the inclusion of the 2015 Volt in factory incentives is a pretty big deal.

Financing as low as 0% for 48 months:

Instead of the allowance, you can get 0% financing for 48 months any on 2014 Volt, or 2.9%% for 48 months on a 2015.

Get money back from the government:

Because the Volt is officially designated an electric vehicle, buyers can qualify for a federal tax credit of up to $7,500. Several state governments offer additional tax credits -- be sure to check with yours.
