The Dodge Charger is what some consider a modern-day interpretation of a four-door muscle car. Since its 2011 refreshing, the Charger has captured the hearts of many buyers. But this large American sedan is more than just a muscle car; it offers technology, poise and value unequaled in its segment. Available in V6 or Hemi V8, rear- or all-wheel drive, gas-sipper to 470-hp SRT thrill ride, there is Charger for every taste.

What's New for 2014

The popular AWD Sport, Blacktop and Rallye Appearance Packages return for 2014 model year. SRT Super Bee and special editions also continue for 2014. A new Redline Package features unique 20-inch black chrome aluminum wheels with a red painted lip and inner backbone, Beats Audio and an upgraded 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with sport mode, a cold-air induction system and sport-tuned exhaust that raise output to 300 horsepower.

Several new colors are offered, including retro TorRed and Plum Crazy hues.

Choosing Your Dodge Charger

There are nine different Charger models plus special appearance and performance packages. The Charger offers best-in-class fuel economy—up to 31 mpg with a V6 and segment-exclusive eight-speed automatic transmission. An advanced all-wheel drive system is available with the V6, and also with a370-horsepower Hemi V8 mated to a five-speed automatic transmission.

The eight-cylinder Chargers are thrilling, but we think the six-cylinder cars have more than enough power and commendable efficiency. That's why we recommend the SE, SXT or SXT Plus for most buyers.

Charger SE

Dodge Charger SE offers more standard equipment than any of its direct standard full-size competitors. Features include the 292-horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, 17-inch aluminum wheels, Keyless Enter ‘n Go with push-button start, a power driver’s seat, power windows, power locks with remote keyless entry, power mirrors, air conditioning with dual-zone control, and steering wheel-mounted cruise and audio controls. An eight-speed automatic, Connectivity Group and the Sport Appearance Group are optional.

Charger SXT

The Dodge Charger SXT offers even more connectivity, comfort and enhanced style. Charger SXT adds the new eight-speed automatic transmission for up to 31 mpg highway. Also included on the Charger SXT’s standard equipment list: fog lamps, Uconnect with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, SiriusXM radio, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, a leather-wrapped shift knob, automatic dual-zone climate control, an Alpine premium audio system, 12-way power driver and front-passenger seats, heated front seats and heated mirrors, and remote start.

Charger SXT Plus

For drivers who want six-cylinder efficiency with premium technologies SXT adds 18-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels, premium Nappa leather seating, heated first- and second-row seats, 12-way power driver and passenger seats, and a heated steering wheel.

R/T

The most affordable V8 sedan in America, the R/T offers a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 370 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque, Fuel Saver Technology and a proven five-speed automatic transmission. In addition to the standard equipment on the Dodge Charger SXT, the Charger R/T model includes 18-inch aluminum wheels, a performance-tuned suspension and exhaust, a performance brake package, high intensity discharge (HID) headlamps and sport seats.

R/T Plus

The Dodge Charger R/T Plus model adds to the Charger R/T’s standard equipment list with 18-inch five-spoke chrome-clad aluminum wheels, premium Nappa leather seating, heated first- and second-row seats, a 12-way power front-passenger seat with four-way power lumbar, and a heated steering wheel.

R/T Road and Track

This model comes with styling enhancements, plus 20-inch chrome-clad wheels, heated and ventilated performance seats, power-adjustable pedals, a steering column with memory, transmission calibration and a high-speed engine controller.

R/T Max

This package adds 20-inch chrome-clad wheels, Uconnect 8.4N with Garmin navigation, adaptive-cruise control with Forward Collision Warning, Blind-Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path Detection, ParkSense rear park assist, ParkView rear backup camera, a Beats by Dr. Dre high-performance audio system, rain-sensing wipers, and heated and cooled cup holders.

SRT Core

This includes top-of-the-line SRT performance without all the luxury features. A standard 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine delivers 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque with Fuel Saver Technology that squeezes out up to 23 mpg on the highway.

SRT

The range-topping Charger with luxury, technology and sports car-like performance achieves 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds. This model comes loaded with standard features and has very few options. A sunroof and a 900 watt, 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system are available.

CarsDirect Tip

In all aspects, this is one of the greatest full-size sedan values. Even if you opt for the supercar performance of the SRT8, you'll still get room for five and a huge trunk at a very attractive price.
