Like the MINI brand it is clearly trying to emulate, the Fiat 500 lineup is expanding to include larger models while still keeping its trademark cute look-at-me styling and tidy proportions intact. After the official unveiling of the five-door 500L hatchback and 500X crossover, we have now come across these images of a new even-larger 7-passenger model, tentatively called the Fiat 500XL.
While reports state it may not make it to the United States, the 500XL sure does have a fetching design, and should be much easier to drive and park than typical vehicles with space for the whole extended family. Around 2.5 feet longer than the 2012 500, the XL still manages to look fun, fresh and compact.
Would Americans go for a people-mover this small? We’ll know more at the Paris Motor Show next month when the XL is made official.
