What you must know before buying the Honda Civic
, Automotive Editor -
  • Higher demand has led to a slight increase in pricing
  • 2014 Honda Civic special, 36-month lease pricing continues
  • Cash for new graduates and military families
  • Low APR deals on 2014 models

Demand is rising, and so are prices:

With the Civic remaining a high-demand vehicle, prices continue to rise at the dealer level. This is especially true in lower-stocked models like the Si and natural gas versions.

Slight model year overlap:

The 2014 models are still available and 2015 models are hitting dealer lots. This overlap may give you the chance to grab a great deal on an outgoing 2014 model. Manufacturer-to-dealer incentives may help drive the price down some as well.

Low payment and $0-down lease offers continue into October:

High demand and dealer stock keep the lease deals coming for the 2014 Honda Civic line. The base Civic Sedan LX is available for as little as $1,999 at signing and 36 monthly payments of $159. If you want a coupe, Honda is offering the two-door LX at $2,199 at signing and $159 per month. To really help sweeten the deal, Honda is offering for $0 at signing on the Civic LX that requires 35 payments of $210 for the sedan and $220 for the coupe. No lease deals yet for the 2015 lineup.

Low APR on 2014 models:

Honda to continues to offer 0.9-percent APR on the 2014 Civic when financed for 24 to 36 months and 1.9-percent from 37 to 60 months. For a while, Honda stopped allowing buyers to stack incentives with this low APR, but stacking these deals is once again allowed. No APR deals for 2015 models.

Discounts for recent grads and U.S. Military members:

Honda is offering buyers $500 cash toward a Civic Sedan or Coupe for new graduates or soon-to-be graduates when financed through Honda Financial Services. Military members and their spouses who finance through Honda Financial Services are eligible to receive $500 off a Honda Civic.
