What you must know before buying the Hyundai Elantra
, Automotive Editor -
  • A strong seller
  • Greater amount of 2015 models rolling in
  • Hefty incentives up to $2,000 on 2014s, but inventory is running out
  • $169 per month lease, 0-percent financing on 2015s

Big seller, big deals:

The Elantra is a popular Hyundai product, but it's loaded up with incentives this month to clear out remaining 2014s. And even the 2015s that are just arriving have large cash offers making now a good time to buy an Elantra.

Lots of deals on remaining 2014s:

Hyundai offers a long list of rebates on the 2014 Elantra, but with supplies dwindling it would be better to act sooner rather than later. SE models get $1,500 bonus cash, while the much scarcer Sport and Limited trims are offered with $2,000 cash back. Confusingly, there's also a $500 Holiday Bonus cash offer on the SE. Then, the Elantra is eligible for 90-Day payment deferment, along with a $500 loyalty bonus.

The 2015s get a $500 bump in cash bonuses in December. A $1,500 bonus on Sport and Limited, and $1,000 on SE with $500 Holiday Cash is offered. The loyalty bonus also applies. All models get a 90-day payment deferment plan.

Lease a 2015, get a 2014 for low finance:

The 2015 SE leases for $169 per month for 36 months, with $1,999 due at signing. A 2014 is $179 per month and $2,299 due, so don't lease a 2014.

APR ranges from 0-percent for up to 60 months on either 2014 or 2015s, to 0.9 for up to 72 months on 2014s and 1.9 for up to 72 months on 2015s. The 2014 also gets $500 bonus cash with those offers.
