What you must know before buying the Hyundai Elantra
, Automotive Editor -
  • Strong seller
  • More 2015 models rolling in; 2014s still around
  • Sport models rare
  • More incentives on 2014 models than 2015 models

Big business for Hyundai:

For the 2015 model year, Hyundai has added some new interior packages and exterior colors to its Elantra compact sedan. The four-door is a core model for the Korean brand and generally sells well.

Some of both:

Dealerships have been getting more examples of the tweaked model; they also have the 2014 versions of the Elantra sedan.

Out of the game:

If you feel like getting a Sport model, it's going to take a while - that trim is not often seen on sales lots. SE variants, on the other hand, are. They start at $17,250 for 2015. We've seen 2015 SEs online discounted by as much as $1,385.

A year of savings:

No changes here. You can lease a 2015 or 2014 Elantra sedan for $179 a month for 36 months. You can also get a $500 Valued Owner Coupon to use on either model year vehicle for already owning a Hyundai.

The APR percentage for up to 60 months of financing is either zero or 2.9, depending on whether you choose a 2014 or a 2015, respectively.

If you go with the former, Hyundai will give you $1,500 in Retail Bonus Cash, as well as a "90 Day Deferred Payment option on terms up to 60 months."
