What you must know before buying the Hyundai Equus
, Automotive Editor -
  • 2015s in better supply, 2014s hard to find
  • 2015s now get $2,000 in bonus cash; many customers can get $3,500 off
  • Finance as low as 1.9-percent for 60 months
  • Lease starts at $659 per month

Limited availability from selected dealers:

Hyundai doesn't let just anyone sell its most prestigious model, and the Equus is carefully sold through only the top-performing Hyundai dealers in larger markets. Your local dealer may not be one of the chosen retailers that stocks and services the Equus. And most in stock are the top-trim Ultimate level, which pushes $70,000. The 2015s have increased in supply and the 2014s are closer to selling out.

Lots of cash out there:

Hyundai discontinued incentives for the 2014s, but added to the 2015's offering. Bonus cash remains a healthy $2,000, and many buyers will either qualify for the loyalty or conquest bonus, at $1,500 each. Dealers have even been known to knock off up to $10,000 on remaining 2014s. And 90-day payment deferment is available on all models.

Low finance, lease available:

Finance deals on 2015s are available for up to 60 months at 1.9 percent APR, or 3.9 percent for up to 72 months including the $2,000 bonus cash.

The lease offer remains at $659 per month for 36 months and $3,499 due at signing.
