3/4 Front Glamour 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport

CarsDirect Pricing Insider

What you must know before buying the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport
, Automotive Editor -
  • Volume seller of Santa Fe line
  • More of a common sight than the regular model
  • Turbo sells faster than 2.4L model
  • Substantial incentives on the table

The Sport's not playing around:

Hyundai's 2014 Santa Fe comes in two forms: the six- or seven-passenger regular model and the five-seat Sport. Ironically, the smaller variant is considered the bigger seller of the pair. That hasn't changed in August.

It upstages its more spacious brother:

With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that the Sport remains easier to find at dealerships than the ordinary Santa Fe. We've seen the Sport marked down online by as much as $4,900.

Bigger isn't always better:

Santa Fe Sports with the 2.4-liter I4 haven't been as popular with buyers as those with the smaller, turbocharged 2-liter motor, despite the fact the former have base prices that are $5,700 lower than those of the latter.

Unless it comes to incentives:

You can lease a 2014 Santa Fe Sport for 36 months with payments of $249. If you choose to finance, Hyundai is offering APR as low as 2.9 percent for up to 60 months. The Korean automaker is also offering $1,000 retail bonus cash in addition to $750 as a loyalty bonus.
