What you must know before buying the Land Rover LR2
Kimberly Smith, Automotive Editor -
  • Land Rover LR2 is selling at MSRP; base model is best value
  • Limited dealer inventory
  • Financing starts at 1.9% APR
  • 2015 is the last model year

Expect to pay sticker:

New 2014 and 2015 models are both selling at MSRP. Typical of Land Rovers, discounts and special pricing are rare finds and, if available, will most likely occur at the dealer level. The base model constitutes the best value, particularly since options can quickly add up to prices more representative of the Range Rover Evoque.

Limited selection:

2014 models are still available but can be difficult to locate. 2015s are easier to come by but are generally stocked in very small numbers. If you’re set on driving it home today, it may be best to check dealer websites or call around to see what’s available before heading out.

Low APR financing is available:

Competitive financing and leasing programs are available at the dealership. Financing starts at 1.9% for 12 to 36 months on select 2015 models. Longer terms are available at higher rates.

Get it while you can:

2015 is the final model year for the LR2. The Discovery Sport, which is due out early next year, will ultimately serve as its replacement with prices starting at $38,920, compared to the LR2's base price of $37,525.
