What you must know before buying the Land Rover Range Rover Sport
Kimberly Smith, Automotive Editor -
  • 2015 Range Rover Sport models have arrived, including the new and very powerful SVR
  • Six-month waiting list for new orders
  • Selling at MSRP; excellent residual value; financing and lease options are available
  • Qualifies for accelerated business tax depreciation

Want more horsepower?

The new 2015s just became available, and with this lineup, Land Rover has introduced its most powerful vehicle yet: The 550-horsepower Range Rover Sport SVR, which starts at $110,475, excluding destination and delivery.

Extremely high demand:

With a six-month waiting list, few of these vehicles actually make it into showrooms, and those that do sell extremely quickly. Plan on placing a factory order to get the one you want.

Take it or leave it:

The Range Rover Sport is Land Rover's biggest seller here in the U.S., so it should come as little surprise that the price is firmly pinned at MSRP. Luckily, this vehicle has excellent residual value. In eight of the last nine years, the Range Rover Sport has won ALG’s Residual Value Award for its category. Competitive financing and leasing programs are available at the dealership.

Tax advantages for businesses:

The Range Rover Sport qualifies as a "heavy SUV" with gross vehicle weight ratings of at least 6,000 pounds, which means, when used for business, an accelerated tax depreciation schedule can be used to depreciate up to 60% of the cost in the first year and fully depreciate in six years.
