What you must know before buying the Mercedes-Benz C350
, Automotive Editor -
  • Not much demand for the C350; not stocked in mass quantities
  • 2014 and 2015 models are overlapping
  • Continued low demand means no special lease or financing options
  • Mercedes' discretionary discounting policy may help lower the price

Not much demand for the C350; not stocked in mass quantities:

The C-Class on a whole is a key lineup for Mercedes, but the C350 is one of the slowest sellers of the group. Dealers prefer to order the fast-selling C250 over the C350, meaning you may have trouble finding one without special ordering it.

2014 and 2015 models are overlapping:

The 2014 C350 is still available in either coupe or sedan, but stock is quickly dwindling. The 2015 C350 is rolling into dealers too, but it is only available as a coupe because the sedan model is now the C400. You may be able to get a good deal on remaining 2014 C350s, but you'll have to act fast.

Continued low demand means no special lease or financing options:

There is little demand for the C350, so Mercedes typically leaves it out of its special lease and financing programs. This trend continues into December.

Mercedes' discretionary discounting policy may help lower the price:

Mercedes allows its dealers to pass discounts on to buyers in certain circumstances. Chances are the 2014 models are all eligible for these discounts. It's less likely that the 2015s will be eligible for discounts, but you can try.
