With the introduction of the new and smaller CLA-Class, the C350 and its fellow C-Class models are no longer the entry-level Mercedes-Benz. The C350 sits in the mid-range of the C-Class with the less powerful C250 and C300 below and the high-performance C63 AMG at the top of the list.
What's New for 2014
For 2014, the C350 gets a split/folding rear seat as standard equipment, and 18-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels replace the previous 17-inch version.
Choosing Your Mercedes-Benz C350
The C350 comes in two body styles: sport sedan and coupe. With its four doors, the sedan offers easier access to the rear seat, which is also a bit roomier than that in the coupe.
Both body styles are powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 with 302 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission with Eco and Sport modes along with paddle shifters. Rear-wheel drive is standard for both styles but the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system is available for the coupe only.
Among the standard features in both body styles are heated front seats, driver-seat memory function, dual-zone climate control and a Harmon/Kardon LOGIC7 audio system. Seats have cloth upholstery and there’s a customizable instrument cluster display with a color 4.5-inch screen. The sedan has a sunroof but the coupe expands that to the panoramic version.
Several option packages are available for both C350 models.
- The Multimedia package adds a rearview camera; a navigation system; voice control for phone, navigation and audio systems; and an in-dash DVD/CD player.
- The Driver Assistance group includes active safety systems that not only alert the driver to blind-spot hazards and lane drift but also can guide the car back into its lane if need be.
- A Sport package sets the tone for sport driving with AMG wheels, a performance steering wheel with paddle shifters, and unique upholstery and interior details.
Additional packages add leather upholstery and bi-xenon headlights that turn as the car turns.
The coupe is eligible for all of the same option packages but also adds the 4Matic package for the all-wheel-drive system.
A few stand-alone options include two additional wheel styles, keyless entry and start functions, and a parking assist system. You can also add a panoramic sunroof to the sedan.
