Diesel engines are still not a favorite of American buyers:

The E250 BlueTEC was an all-new, diesel-powered version of the E-Class for 2014. Despite its 45-mpg rating, this diesel option is still marred by the stigma of these engines sounding like school buses and semi trucks. This viewpoint is starting to change, but it is still present.

2014 and 2015 models are available, but still limited stock:

Despite overlapping model years, supply on the E250 BlueTEC is still rather limited due to low demand.

Rare bonus cash offered for the holidays:

Mercedes rarely ever offers bonus cash, but for the month of December it is offering $2,000 in Holiday Bonus Cash with all 2015 E-Class sedans, even the low-demand diesel. Mercedes also allows dealers to discount its models in some instances. Selling a slow-selling model like the E250 BlueTEC may be a good reason to allow this discounting. you're more likely to get a discount. You;re more likely to get a discount on a 2014 model.

Still no lease deals or special APR:

With demand so low, there is no reason for Mercedes to offer great deals on the E250 BlueTEC. If a buyer wants a diesel-powered Mercedes, he will buy one regardless of deals.
