A new generation of the midsize Chrysler 200 bows for 2015 with substantial upgrades in most areas. It's now a much stronger competitor to top-selling sedans like the Ford Fusion and Honda Accord.
What's New for 2015
The redesigned 200 boasts dramatic styling along with never-before mechanical features like a nine-speed transmission and available all-wheel drive. The convertible has been discontinued.
Choosing Your Chrysler 200
All 200 models start out with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder, now with 184 horsepower. Output on the optional 3.6-liter V6 has been bumped to a class-leading 295 horsepower. A nine-speed automatic transmission serves both engines. The V6 features a Sport mode for snappier transmission response and tighter steering, and can be paired with all-wheel drive.
The 200 is available in four trim levels:
The 200 lineup is designed to cover a lot of market territory, so there are major differences in trim levels. The LX comes up short on equipment and amenities, leaving the Limited as the proper base model in our view. To truly experience the important improvements bestowed on the new 200, we recommend upgrading to the S or C model.
