What you must know before buying the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
, Automotive Editor -
  • Wrangler Unlimited widely available
  • No factory cash incentives
  • Leases now start at $303 for 36 months
  • 3.84% APR for up to 60 months

Unlimited appeal:

Buyers have taken to the four-door Wrangler Unlimited in a big way, and it now accounts for more than half of Wrangler sales. Because the Unlimited moves so well on its own virtues, it doesn't need the usual incentives and discounting, and is stocked in greater numbers than the two-door Wrangler.

What to expect at the dealer:

As usual, the top-selling Sport model is most common, but the upscale Sahara and Rubicon can be found as well. Note that any model with a manual transmission is exceedingly rare and often requires special factory order.

Some dealers will be open discounting, but the amount will be small compared to what's available on other Jeep vehicles.

Leasing still attractive:

Believe it or not, the Unlimited costs less on a lease than the smaller (and cheaper) Wrangler two-door. The Sport now goes for $303 for 36 months (12,000 miles a year) with $2,499 due at signing, a heck of a deal.

If you finance:

As usual, Jeep is offering 3.84% financing for up to 60 months.
