3/4 Front Glamour 2015 Kia Forte

As far as compact sedans go, the Kia Forte offers a healthy amount of standard features while sticking near the bottom of the class in terms of price. You also get sharp styling that effectively disguises the Forte's economy mission.

What's New for 2015

Aside from a few trim revisions, the Forte continues unchanged.

2015 Kia Forte

Choosing Your Kia Forte

The standard 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine generates 148 horsepower and comes with your choice of a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. For more robust performance, Kia offers a 2-liter four-cylinder with 173 horsepower, which comes only with the automatic.

The Forte's engine is determined by the trim level:

LX

Carries the 1.8-liter and standard equipment like heated mirrors, Bluetooth phone and audio, a split-folding rear seat, and a four-speaker sound system with satellite radio and a USB interface. A necessary addition for most buyers is the Popular package, which includes keyless entry, cruise control, two extra speakers and an upgraded interior. Kia's Uvo eServices infotainment system is available in a bundle that includes a rearview camera and 16-inch alloy wheels.

EX

Gets the 2-liter engine and the LX's Popular package as standard, plus adjustable steering assist, foglights, LED running lights, power-folding mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a chilled glovebox. The Uvo system bundle continues as an option, except with 17-inch wheels. The Premium package transforms Forte EX into a little luxury car with heated leather seats (front and rear), a ventilated power driver seat, a heated steering wheel, a sunroof, keyless ignition and illuminated door handles. On top of all that, you can add the Technology package, which includes a navigation system, HD radio, additional Uvo features, xenon headlights and LED taillights.

CarsDirect Tip

The LX really excels when it comes to features for the money, but your access to options is limited. If you want a compact for its size rather than its frugality, you'll probably feel more at home with the EX.
