The Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG offers you something no other small roadster can: the roar of a V8 engine. Add to that its special performance hardware, and you have a sporty two-seater that can keep up with full-blown luxury roadsters costing twice as much.

Choosing Your Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG
While the entire SLK-Class performs like a proper German roadster should, the 55 AMG is designed to engage drivers who take their performance very seriously. The 5.5-liter V8 produces 415 horsepower (more than double the output of the base SLK engine) and 398 pound-feet of torque. Power flows through a specially tuned seven-speed automatic transmission. Zero to 60 mph comes in just 4.5 seconds, and yet the V8 somehow manages to return 22 mpg in combined driving. The 18-inch AMG-spec wheels are available in three different designs. A tauter suspension, a sport exhaust system and upgraded brakes complete the mechanical setup.
Every 55 AMG carries a power hardtop with remote operation and an integrated panoramic sunroof, sun-reflective Nappa leather sport seats, an 11-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with satellite and HD radio, Bluetooth phone and audio, and the AirScarf neck-warming system. Aluminum interior trim comes standard, and you can opt for wood or carbon fiber.
